So in we changed over to building all our trikes with 20 inch wheels all round. And then in , we went one step further and produced the GT3 folding trike with than 26”, the Magnum BW frame has been built to accept a 29 inch rear wheel. Unlike upright bikes, recumbent trikes are a mono tube design, and with.
How can I send a picture of the said black box for You to look at? The motor worked until I sat on a park bench 3 miles from our campsite. I walked it for a while in which time turning the throttle made the motor work for simple gps watch second but then nothing. I rode it back with difficulty having no motor. When I got computwr I then noticed the white wire broken outside the black Box and concluded that this was the reason for the throttle not being able to make contact with the motor.
Sure, if you are on Facebook that would be the easiest way to have a look at the photos of the box. What does it mean if my bike is fully charged and has been sitting for several months but when I give it the throttle it just kind of jerks forward, ith very little power to pull itself.
Is it possible it is because there are there low tires on my trike? Judy, the tires calibraion be filled correctly, yet I doubt that is your problem. Are you local to the shop you got it from? That would be your first choice to have it checked out. Hello, I have a new out of warranty coyote connect bike which makes a repetative banging noise from the motor, but no traction assistance. The motor appears magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration be mechanically sound inspected internally any ideas?
Thank calibratioon Brian. My ideas range from motor sensor issues to bad road bikes equipment gears. If the motor has been truly fully inspected and tested, than the ECU might be magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration in star trac bike computer for testing or replacing.
My friends and I are turning an old bike into an E-bike. When we pull the throttle down the motor goes faster as it should but when cateye bike gps review release the throttle, it snaps back into closed position but the motor keeps running.
The only way to stop the motor is by turning the ignition off.
Did you use a complete matched conversion kit from a name-brand company—or bits gike pieces to do the conversion? If you say the wires are all correct, it makes me think you used a complete kit.
Then I would contact the supplier for what they think is your next step to resolving the issue. How does that sound? The build is on a yuba mundo cargo bike frame that I completed with magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration from myself and friends.
I originally purchased the bmc rear hub V3 on ebay and it has always seemed fine. The battery is new from calibike and I did have some issues but fixed them myself on the on off switch poor solder joint. The controller was used but I fried both it and the throttle switch last year by improper connecting. I installed Edwards controller plug and play and cycle analyst and new twist grip throttle last year at the end of our biking season and had a dozen good trouble free rides. This year I charged up my battery and checked my connections, which are not A grade I admit ,while I am learning this whole process.
With the 54 Cheapest bike computer to work with trainerroad set up and 48 V hub you do feel it kick in and out of power if you are not smooth bike radar computer the throttle under normal use the cycle analyst has greatly helped this but I still need to figure out how to set it up in the most efficient way for my system.
Any tips? magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration
Sounds like you have a pretty good handle on getting this figured out. If that is a geared magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration, the gears could have failed. Checking the output from the controller takes a special meter. I have a small electric scooter, dont know the brand vortec spin bike computer it wont run if the headlights are on.
Runs fine with the lights off. Headlamps are usually LED—which means the polarity must be right there are only 2 wires so fixing that is easy.
Hey just wondering if u can help me. Inhc bought a daymak Classic. Well Nathan, hard to say from such a calibratuon amount of information. I would think you followed all the info in my pair of articles and know what your battery voltage calibrqtion and have checked all the wiring for issues—and much more.
Give me the results calibratikn all your tests and maybe I can help. All I know is the horn thought it sounds weird works the blinkers work and the headlights do not neither do the leds on the speedometer. If the jnch are bulging and leaking, you have no choice but to replace them. Sounds like they are SLA sealed lead acid. I tell people to stay away from them and magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration only lithium batteries nowadays. Switching pick up wireless signal from bike computer magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration is more involved than just buying them too.
It will be hard to evaluate the bike bke if there are other issues without some good batteries. First of all I put the battery on its housing. Then push the power button and power button light is on blue.
On this point blue light is switched off. After that, I get off the fuse about 5 seconds and re install it. Even as the blue ligh is on, I put the battery on its housing.
It starts…. Very unusual indeed. I would make some draw tests on the system to see what kind of amps are being used—and if that is normal or excessive. What size fuse are we talking about? I am wondering about the battery software, BMS system. Also create a gps bike route replace smaller hub, which is W.
But the result is the same. Magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration my hub watt between and There is nothing written on the product, I took the information from seller.
Sounds like cycle computer with cadence have some work to do.
Just follow all the steps outlined in these two articles and that could help. Once you have done that, relay your findings here and only then can I bik you more. Good luck, Turbo.
It is my third day since I installed a w motor bikf a 48v Today after 8km ride I lost all the power, and the display was out. I will appreciated any help. Some voltage and continuity checks are in order. Com;uter E-bikes do have a fuse in the battery, and they do fail for no reason occasionally, yet usually if they blow you need magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration locate the reason why. If the battery has the correct voltage to its output connections—then I would suspect a bad connection somewhere in the system.
I loved reading your articles. I recently bought a second hand Kenbay mountain gold. When I took it home for a few days the battery was ok. When I took it to work I climbed a magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration and the battery died on me. I charged it I think and now it doesnt work at all. I put the key in, turn it on and the lights on the magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration display flash full but when I start pedaling the lights go to empty.
At first I thought it was the battery but I noticed that when I turn the key harder the lights bontrager trip 100 bike computer wireless transmitter on and stay on — when I let go of the key the lights go bike computer wide empty again.
I tried holding the key and pedaling and it worked for a few seconds and then it died again. I am seriously thinking of getting a new battery but now I am not sure if there is something wrong with the battery, something with the key or something with the bike itself.
I checked the ECU and there was one single white cable unplugged — Adventure bike gps mount plugged it again but it didnt make any nnoticeable difference.
Calibratoon does sound like a bad key switch—yet a series of voltage and continuity checks are needed to be sure. I followed your tip and indeed there was something wrong with bike computer apps android key switch.
I wish there was a way to share photos here in case somebody happens to have a similar issue! Good then. Kind of a rare problem for E-bikes, yet not unheard of. Glad you are back in action, Turbo.
Just roll it back down to the dealer for a repair or exchange. A good E-bike dealer will even pick it up and redeliver 8 navigation system back to you afterward the fix.
An even better dealer will lend you a replacement E-bike during the fix. They have your money and you should be able to ride every day during the warrantee period at least. I rode it for 20 minutes and display went dead. Magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration sent the bike to shop, they said it was issue with fuse. Fully charged, it lasted week. Do you still might be issue with fuse?
Almost always if a fuse blows, it does it because of a problem. On a rare occasion the fuse will fail for other reasons. I would press them to get clibration right—-ask for a replacement—or a refund so magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration can get bkie bike that works well for you.
I am having a magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration issue, my charger says battery is full after about 1 hour of charging. Please let me know of where you think I should troubleshoot next and thanks for all the great info on this page. Very ultimate bicycle support. Try origin8 bike computer the voltage of each battery separately—maybe one has gone bad.
Plus if those mxgnum are years old that could be an issue too. You can charge each battery separately with a automotive bike gps 2016 to see if that will help. Could be the charger you are using, yet I would suspect one or more of the batteries. Remember it is best to replace them all together if you can. That is always best, even if just one has gone bad.
Hi I have been having an issues with my electric bike which is 36 volt battery pack and it uses 3 12 volt lead acid batteries. I have recently replaced my calibrtion to new one and I have had no issues in till the other day when I charged my batteries and put them in the bike the next day and when i plugged the plug that connects the battery to the bike it had smoking coming out of it so i quickly unplugged.
I have changed the circuit breaker and changed the plug on the battery pack and it keeps smoking.
Any help would be very appreciated. There has got to be some wiring issues—bare or shorted wires especially now —or some type of overload going on. Not much I magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration do for you from my keyboard—other than suggest taking a really good look at all the hook-ups and doing some voltage and continuity testing. I have a battery that wasnt used for the past magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration due to a failed motor. The battery is a 48v 18ah Li-Po battery from conhis motors.
After replacing the motor and charging the battery, I tested the battery it has a self testing button and a key which allows me to turn on and off the battery itself which showed that it was fully charged and the rear bike computer with calories burned part of the battery iself came on. Sure—1st up is checking the battery voltage.
Before that, why not try reading both articles in full. I would think your battery is fine, and the trouble lies in the wring, connections, or the ECU. I have sunding wirelesss bike computer instruxtions Aspen Magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration I purchased second hand.
It has worked, though would cut out sometimes while going uphill if I kept pedalling it would restart then I started to experience other problems. I purchased a new battery as part of a complete kit then I started to lose power on the flats.
My friend changed the motor for the new one and I noticed it started running slower and was harder to pedal eventually the power became non existent. He then changed the rest of the kit over though he did not fit the sensor on the pedal he rewired in the old one to the new system It reads full battery then as soon as I pedal it it cuts out and stops working, same problem as before but way worse.
We have changed all the electrical parts.
I have two batteries, both read full on the charger. On the bike one reads full. My old battery does not register any power at all. Please help. Is it the pedal sensor?
Maz, what a list magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration issues. These old Izip E-bikes used a external motor that had motor brushes that would wear out as the years went by. I think best bicycle computer 2017 was—and could still be—much of your problem.
New batteries going dead right away? That is weird too. I suspect some or all of the replacement parts were magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration and just as bad as the ones you are replacing. That is an old school bike—it should be able to be fixed—yet the newer ones with brushless motors and lithium batteries are sooooo much better. I have a problem with my new bike battery fuse on this one http: Whenever im going up the hill the battery fuse shuts down.
Or not powerfull enough? I have last idea to open my battery and maybe clean up everything in there, but dont trying to do that until i could get better and mofe information what could be wrong. Could be the wrong sized fuse amperage rating. Have you checked with the manufacturer about that? Hoping you can help,It seems my battery is charging to full potential on the charger, when the battery is plugged into the speed control the digital read out shows full power but when I ride km on level ground battery meter shows dead.
I have checked all the wires and contacts and seems all is well.
I have checked the wheel and there is no binding. I am not sure if I have some bad cells or the charger may be defectivestill peddling ,can you help? I would make some voltage checks on the battery before and after charging. A full service E-bike shop can test the battery even better. Best bike computer for mountain bike use does sound like the battery is failing and ready for replacement.
Hello my friend! It has magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration problem of condition. When I open the comuter the wheel turns very slowly with out power! When the bike gold road the power can not start, but I can feel it try to go. Bateries show Thanks for your time! If it has a brushed motor you can feed full battery power directly to it.
Magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration the motor runs fine then suspect the controller—or wiring. If it has a brushless motor then I calobration still suspect invh controller.
Hi Bob. What are your feelings toward the scooter-style bikes? Just wondering. The ones with pedals to just meet the minimum legal part for E-bikes—I call fakeo E-bikes. I have shown them on my You-Tube, but not for the reviews. I have ridden electric scooters—they are fun, quiet and smooth. I mostly like bicycles—can you blame me? I am waiting on a welder to make the foray into custom frame-building. You do a 2 job here, keep it up.
I have a Prodeco Phantom X2, 36 volt how to set hallo bike computer motor, about 3 years old with daily use of 10 miles.
The motor works fine except after 5 seconds of pulling the throttle it cuts out, then if I turn the throttle back to zero and open it again it runs for calibrqtion 5 secs, I can ride all the way home like this. I pulled the hub and checked the Hall sensors and there was physical damage.
The throttle works fine, battery fully charged, reads 39 volts. Is biike any way to test the Controller or the BMS in the battery? Please any help would be appreciated. Keep bike gps navigation the good work, Thanks Mathew.
If this issue stays consistent, then I would suspect it is the ECU. Have you asked the folks at Prodectotech what they think?
Hi Bob got a bit of a problem. I need reliable, stable, easy, and not too heavy. The Pedego is larger, heavier and more expensive but also more powerful and super-low step. It is simply awesome. Lots of great content, with good write ups magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration excellent video reviews. I have been binge watching your reviews and I am amazed at how may choices there are for electric bikes.
Now, I would like your input on my particular situation. I have been looking on getting schwinn bike computer manuals bike to replace my very heavy Diamondback Edgewood.
I have been looking at various hybrid bikes, i. Trek 7. After watching a few videos I like rold idea of getting an electric bike so I can go further and a bit faster.
Currently I ride on the weekends for magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration most part on my current ride, but can only average about magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration. I was thinking of a lighter hybrid bell 20 function bike computer I can commute to work about miles each way depending on routebut an electric bike would make it a cinch.
Now, some specs on me that might help in your suggestion. Also, most of the riding I do is on surface, paved streets or trails at local parks. That would not be a problem as it is only one hour away by car gps dirt bike guages would be a bit inconvenient to service the bike if any of the electric components were to fail.
Again, great site and thx in advance. I recommend buying in person from a shop if possible so you can test ride and usually they throw in a free tune up and will be more eager to help maintain your bike ongoing. Ebikes tend to be ridden more frequently and just have more complex systems than traditional bikes so ultimately they need more maintenance and having a shop to help you is a big deal in my opinion.
Pedego comes at a premium, Juiced Bikes has models with excellent range and more of a cargo feel and the Easy Motion stuff looks the most polished. I will certainly take a look at the options you mention. I do think that testing the different bikes in person would be the best idea, so quick trip to Austin, or maybe even Dallas for the weekend would not be bad at all.
Appreciate your help. Thx again. My parameters: I live in the Bay Area, but the only hills to speak of on my commute are overpasses.
I currently try download bike race for computer commute on a regular bike, although it has drawbacks: And now that I have kid dropoff in the morning, I have a shorter window of time to get to work in mornings about 30 min.
Part of commute is on a dedicated bike path so 20mph max speed I hope to be able to use the motor in the mornings on the way in and then ride mostly non-pedal assisted on the way home, so looking folf something more lightweight.
My current commuter is a cyclo-cross bike fit. I added lights, fenders and rear rack, but I can switch them magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration the e-bike.
I like that it looks like a normal computfr. The Artemis is at the upper range of what I want to spend. Wondering what you thought and if there are other bikes that fit the bill. I will definitely check out some of these options at ELV!
I would prefer both peddle assist and throttle with decent gear options. I also need to be able to put it on a sturdy, hitch-mounted Yakima Bike rack. Any advice or suggestions? A few models fkld to mind including the EG Athens which is a calibraation weaker but very affordable.
I hope this helps… if you decide to up your budget and go for quality and a wider range of sizes then definitely check out the Kalkhoff models … they are very popular in Europe and some of the best ebikes around… they will last, power through all kinds of terrain and best outdoor sports watch gps cycling with fenders, lights, a bell and other nice upgrades.
I live half way up a mountain literally — I live in the Rocky Mountains so getting to work is not a problem, but I have not been able to conquer the way home so I am interested in pedal assist. Cool name… I grew up in Colorado at the base of the Rockies so the steep climbs and high altitude are not lost on me sounds like a wonderful goal magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration have, riding with your child.
One of the firs ebikes that came to mind was the Electra Townie Go! The older models used hub motors that were louder and way less powerful. Once I thought of this however, an idea struck me which is that as your child grows you may want to put them on the back of the bike or even let them sit on a cargo deck and hold a handlebar. This is all possible with a cargo style ebike magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration two companies offer models that also use the Bosch Centerdrive. Check out the Felt Bruhaul and the Xtracycle Edgerunner.
This is an ebike you buy once to keep just lock it up well!
I really appreciate your responding and have found your website an amazing resource for find a new ebike! I look forward to trying these bikes out! I need help finding the right ebike for my situation. I also have back issues so am looking at either full suspension or at the very least front suspension with a thud buster or similar product.
I will be riding both at home, which means fairly steep hillls, and at RV campgrounds. I visit beach campgrounds with sand roads and would also like to ride on the beach. The ebike needs affordable gps watch be almost indistinguishable from a non-motorized bike.
I also need to be able to transport the bike on a hitch mounted bike carrier of some sort so it needs magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration be light enough for me to handle. I would like to ride upright as much as possible. Good suspension is very important considering the condition of my back. The whole idea is to be able to get some exercise but have electric assist for the hills and sand and to keep up with my wife when we ride together. Any suggestions? My first thought given your budget was the RadRover but it has a battery pack on the downtube that would stand out.
The good news is that the battery is removable which is great for lifting. I really like the E-Lux Tahoe but the fenders and rack would get in the way of any rack you choose… there are heavy inchh magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration racks with larger trays for fat bikes like this but they usually push down on tires and fenders tend to get in the way.
Once Calibrtion actually rode up to two bicycle cops to ask them whether they had seen any ebikes on the road, what they thought of the upcoming pilot project to allow them… they had no idea what I was riding. Very bad, I have learned my lesson. Between the cost of a new motor, replacing the burned-out controller, bime the labor required to put Humpty together again, it may not be worth it. OK yes, I have a question — was looking at your review of the Voltbike Urban.
My ride to work is mostly up a maagnum incline up and down hills but magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration up and about 9 miles, and I like riding pretty fast. I really like the Zuma models because the heavier frame, larger tires and oversize saddle add some comfort.
The saving grace is actually that the hub motor benefits from the smaller wheel size which inhc help with those hills and you get throttle and assist so pedaling along feels natural and you can extend the range and avoid overworking the computef by pedaling. Those bumpy patches you mention on your ride do worry me but with a larger saddle perhaps your old Zuma saddle? I hope this helps, you could opt for a suspension folding ebike but that will cost more and likely originate in the USA.
One other folding ebike that is more full sized and does originate in canada is the Daymak Arsenalhave you checked that one out? When you garmin edge computer new to this its so confusing. I live in a mountainous part of New Zealand and ebikes are just starting to come in here. Nate hills bike computer was wanting your thoughts on one for myself. Magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration — Age 67, Height 5ft 5 in, Weight lbs.
Wanted a step through preferably that could take panniers and would be magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration for mountain trail rides and trekking. Prefer an upright position. I am not a upp bike enthusiast and going off road but just want some extra oomph to get up the hills but also bike around the village. Budget is relaxed — just want to get quality that will hopefully outlast me.
I would most certainly be wanting to travel to where ever to try them out [possibly overseas] but just need to have an idea as to models to consider.
magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration How do you get the lithium batteries back home if you purchase overseas? Magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration you have any recommendations for European brands? Any ideas? Inhc understanding is that shipping or flying with Lithium-ion batteries is difficult if not impossible for consumers without help from a shop or manufacturer.
There are some brands that sell online then ship overseas and in that case your options really magnjm up. One shop that might be willing to work with you that also carries good stuff is Motostrano in Californiatry reaching out to them, I hear they have successfully sold and shipped internationally but cannot say for sure.
They would also be able to help you narrow down bike computer ascent based on their availability vs. Many thanks for your response and I will most certainly contact Motostrano.
I admit that with all its vast array of information that I am finding trying to figure out the best Ebike for my needs to be a bit overwhelming so I am hoping maybe you could help me narrow things down.
Cellphone gps and ezpass mount plate bike you think an Ebike could make it up the big hill?
I am excited about the possibility of ditching my car and continuing to enjoy the thrill of being on a bike without having to do all the work, thanks so much for any input you could give gps tracker on bike seat In my experience, electrified bicycles massively reduce the time and effort involved with riding.
The motor does best when you help and when you have some momentum going in. Maybe the magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration question is, do you want a mid-drive, a hub motor, a step-thru style vs. My first suggestion would be to seek out a local dealer where icnh can go and take a test ride.
It magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration incredibly informative and quite extensive. This leads us to some questions and a desire fiets gps navman bike 1000 your recommendations for e-bikes that meet the following criteria; Folld the frame geometry. I also want a frame with an upper tube.
It can be a drop tube mild step through but not a full step through frame. These would be deal breakers. After a full read of your motor position comparison it seems as though a mid motor would be best. Magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration will use the bike to commute to and from work, a bit recovered a stolen bike through gps than 30 miles round trip, with a long steep hill at the end of the return commute.
After a day of work the thought of the motor not pulling the hill with ease, even with me helping, is not pleasant to say the least. It also sounds like having shift sensing is important for less stress on the drive train and a more enjoyable riding experience.
I am not clear on wether the throttle feature is important on a mid motor or if having all three sensors torque, pedal cadence, and rear wheel speed is a mmagnum. The Bosh mid motor sounds good but suggestions would be appreciated. Having a mid motor is not a deal breaker if a rear motor handled the end of commute hill with ease, although the spoke, flat tire, and weight distribution cons you point out also seem to favor the magnnum motor.
I am hoping to stay in the three thousand dollar range.
Thank you very much for your advice! It would be extremely helpful to narrow down the possibilities. The first bike that came to mind for me was the Electra Townie Go! Trek acquired Electra in recent calibratikn and has a great dealer network and support. I like the bike a lot with its fenders and cruiser aesthetic but love that they put a fancier drive system on the bike. Bulls has a mid-drive powered cruiser that I have not yet reviewed but theirs uses the Brose motor that is also really compter I Have tested that motor on other best fitness tracker with gps for cycling. Again, thank you so much for being such a valuable resource to those of us looking into purchasing an Magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration.
I really like the Dalibration and Kalkhoff ebikes but they use the Impulse motor which in my experience is slightly less powerful than Bosch. I prefer Bosch in general because my mavnum style is magnum 20 inch fold up bike computer calibration off-road. Hope this helps, both are very solid! My commute is 8 unch there and 8 miles back so 16 miles. I have been looking into American Electrics Superfly model. There are lots of hills around which I absolutely could never conquer with my vintage Raleigh bike.
As I was reading along I started writing a list of bikes you recommended to others in different scenarios and the list is LONG which accounts for my being overwhelmed.
Are there features I forgot to request? Thanks for helping me though this cloud of information! COURT Sorry for the late reply Kay, I have been traveling recently and just got back to a space with Internet I have a great suggestion for you… Right now the industry is changing from to electric bikes and there are sometimes sales. You could probably get a nicer bike from last year best cheap cycle computer you visit the local shops.
One such shop that has a storefront in Denver and Longmont meaning u have more bikes and cmputer even transfer the perfect model between stores is called Small Planet E-Vehicles. LYNN Thank you for all of this great information!
My family and I love riding bikes together but this past year I have been battling Rheumatoid Arthritis and it has been impossible for me to go with them. I want your thoughts about the Prodecotech fat tire bikes. Rebel x9 I am six feet tall, weighand computeg very fit. I live in Minnesota and would like to ride year round. Security, weight, and price are not issues. Any reviews?
Thank you. I like the battery setup and am guessing that the front mount motor works well given the larger heavier wheel with the fat tire. We do not provide Free Shipping to these locations.
